Update from Educate Lanka – a Sappani Foundation partnership
At the Sappani Foundation, we believe in the power of education. It is the single-most important factor in the ability of people to move out of poverty. Therefore, the Sappani Foundation funds projects supporting children, primarily girls who are:
* from marginalized communities
* are disabled
* from low income families
* who are BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Person of Colour)
One such partnership is with Educate Lanka, a US-based charity. The Sappani Foundation has funded scholarships for girls in Nuwara Eliya District in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. Keeping Covid-19 restrictions in mind, Educate Lanka carried out their disbursement on a walk-in basis in April 2021.
We at the Sappani Foundation are incredibly proud and happy to be associated with with venture. For photos of this event, please click here.
